Description
The iconic Tiger Moth is arguably the world’s most famous training aircraft providing the majority of RAF pilots with their elementary flight training during WWII. This aircraft offered wartime pilots the training needed to protect our skies in aircraft such as Spitfire’s and the Hurricane’s. This famous aeroplane first took to the skies in 1931, and offers you the ultimate vintage open cockpit flying experience.
With a single Tiger Moth once based at RAF Eshott during WWII, now it’s your chance for a flying experience in this historic vintage machine – the perfect gift voucher idea for loved ones. Your flight experience can last for 30 or 45 minutes offering stunning views of the Northumberland coastline and historic castles.
This experience starts in our incredibly rare WW2 Fordson truck where you will be briefed by your pilot on the aircraft, your flying route and you will also be kitted out with a military flight suit. Once you are strapped into the rear cockpit you will hear this aircraft come to life with the sound of it’s vintage Gipsy Major engine. After some checks, the pilot will taxi to the runway and you’ll find yourself airborne over the skies of Northumberland.
Family and friends are welcome to join you for your flight briefing and will be able to get up close with the Tiger Moth on the ground. They’ll be able to stay at the airfield clubhouse overlooking the runway whilst your flying experience takes place. After landing back at Eshott your pilot will give you the opportunity to take photographs in front of this historic biplane to remember your unique experience.
